Drum Lessons Indianapolis

Our drum instructors teach a variety of styles. Students will learn some basics of reading music for the drum set, how to count rhythms and learn some basic beats. Later, students will learn some of their favorite songs and will have opportunities to play with other musicians in a group setting.

We do occasional concerts for parents and family members. Students who are taking drum lessons. We pair the drum students with guitar students have learned the same songs.

Beginning students don't need a drum set to start. They can begin with a practice pad which can be purchased inexpensively. We provide the drum set here in our Indianapolis Lesson studio. Students will only need to bring a set of sticks which can be purchased here for $5 per set.


AFRAID of the NOISE? Don't worry, modern electronic drum sets simulate the sound and feel of real drum set very well.

If you are just starting out, here are a number of ways you can keep sound levels down while you practice and do it affordably:

1) Beginners can use practice pads.
2) There are mute packages that can be placed on drums and cymbals.
3) Electronic drum sets are a great alternative and can be used with headphones.

WHAT WILL I LEARN IN DRUM LESSONS?
Our drum teachers realize that each student is different, has different needs and goals. When you register for lessons we will give you a questionnaire to list your favorite music, bands, songs and styles you want to learn. 

Together with the music academy and your drum teacher we will create a plan for you. We love beginners so even if you have never played drums in your life we can help you develop a plan.

WHAT STYLES OF MUSIC CAN I LEARN?
We have versatile teachers who have many years of experience playing and performing in bands. We have teachers who specialize in rock, country, jazz, blues and worship music. You ask for it and we'll teach it to you. 

WHAT ARE THE CREDENTIALS OF YOUR DRUM INSTRUCTORS?

We have highly qualified drum instructors with 30 + years of performance experience and university training. Being a great drummer doesn't make everyone a great teachers. Our teachers are friendly, have warm personalities and mentor the students through their musical journeys.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO LEARN TO PLAY DRUMS?
Learning the drums is different for everyone. Most students learn the basics in a few months, can play rhythms, drum fills and a few songs. Many drum students take lessons for several years. There is always something new to learn and drum lessons are a lot of fun.
