Guitar Lessons Indianapolis For Kids 7 and up and Adults of all ages.
Our teachers know a variety of music styles which primary are: rock, metal, blues, and classical guitar. Whether you want to learn, Metallica, The Beatles, the latest country hits or gospel music, we've got you covered.
New students to the guitar will learn the basics, the names of strings, note names, chords, how to strum and how to play a few easy melodies.
We make each lesson fun by teaching students some of their favorite riffs or song intros, but we also take some time to focus on some guitar playing fundamentals, essential skills or concepts. We always want to challenge and push the student a little more during every lesson. We use several different books to accomplish this. Students are always encouraged to tell us about their favorite groups and songs so we can help them learn them.

WHAT DO YOU LEARN IN YOUR MUSIC LESSONS?
We are often asked that question by potential students. At Indianapolis Music Academy we will spend some time during the first lessons asking the students questions about their favorite music, songs and styles they'd like to play and mapping out some goals.
Many students will begin with standard curriculum. They will learn how to read music, how to play chords, how to strum and other essential skills. We will incorporate some of the students favorite music as we go through lessons with them.
An adult student who has already learned to play will have different needs than a beginner. They may want to learn strictly cover songs, learn about scales and improvising lead or maybe they just need a coach to help them through songs and to get them down from beginning to end.
WHAT AGES DO YOU TEACH
We teach children 7 and older and adults. We will sometimes make exceptions for kids younger than 7 if they are able to pay attention for an entire 30 minute lesson.
WHAT STYLES OF MUSIC DO YOU TEACH?
We teach many styles of music. We teach metal, classical rock, pop, blues, classical, country, worship music and much more.
ARE YOUR INSTRUCTORS QUALIFIED?
Our teachers have gone through a background check, have graduated from colleges, universities or have many, many years of professional playing, performance and teaching experience.
Where are you located? We are on 5703 South East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227, 1 mile south of the 465 Exit and just in between Edgewood and Epler Avenues. We are 4 miles north County Line Road in north Greenwood, Indiana.
