WHAT DO YOU LEARN IN YOUR MUSIC LESSONS?

We are often asked that question by potential students. At Indianapolis Music Academy we will spend some time during the first lessons asking the students questions about their favorite music, songs and styles they'd like to play and mapping out some goals.

 

Many students will begin with standard curriculum. They will learn how to read music, how to play chords, how to strum and other essential skills. We will incorporate some of the students favorite music as we go through lessons with them.

 

An adult student who has already learned to play will have different needs than a beginner. They may want to learn strictly cover songs, learn about scales and improvising lead or maybe they just need a coach to help them through songs and to get them down from beginning to end.

WHAT AGES DO YOU TEACH 

We teach children 7 and older and adults. We will sometimes make exceptions for kids younger than 7 if they are able to pay attention for an entire 30 minute lesson.


WHAT STYLES OF MUSIC DO YOU TEACH? 

We teach many styles of music. We teach metal, classical rock, pop, blues, classical, country, worship music and much more.

ARE YOUR INSTRUCTORS QUALIFIED?

Our teachers have gone through a background check, have graduated from colleges, universities or have many, many years of professional playing, performance and teaching experience.
